Teenage Girl Arrested Over Gold Coast Siege
A 17-year-old woman has been arrested after allegedly holding her grandmother at knifepoint for nearly eight hours during a siege on the Gold Coast.
Police surrounded a home at Cotlew Street in Southport around 9:30pm last night, with reports the woman had barricaded herself inside the home and was refusing to let the grandmother, aged in her 60s, leave.
An emergency declaration was put in place and revoked about 4:50am Friday when police stormed the residence.
Both women are undergoing checks in hospital, they're believed to be stable.
The teenager is yet to be charged.
