Western Bulldogs midfielder Nathan Hrovat has joined North Melbourne as part of a complex trade deal.

The Kangaroos have also received the Bulldogs’ 2017 third- and fourth-round picks while the Dogs have acquired North’s 2017 third- and fourth-round picks.

Hrovat performed well when he got his chance late this season, averaging 19 touches and kicking three goals in four games.

But the 22-year-old was overlooked for the Dogs’ incredible finals series and will now head to Arden Street after four years at Whitten Oval.

Since being taken at pick No.21 in the 2012 draft, Hrovat has played 30 games for the Dogs.
