Fremantle has assigned their new guernsey numbers for 2017, with Harley Bennell donning a new number with a lot of meaning.

After previously wearing the number 4, Bennell will wear 13 next year, and not for the first time.

"It's a lucky number in my family," he told fremantlefc.com.au.

"Me and all of my brothers wore it in their junior footy days, so it's good to be able to pull that number on again in Freo colours."

New recruit Bradley Hill will also wear a number close to him: number nine.

"The reason I requested number 9 is because it’s the number I always wore playing junior footy," he said.

"I had number 9 from when I started playing footy until I was about 17, so when I saw that number available I requested it."

Fellow recruits Joel Hamling, Shane Kersten and Cam McCarthy will wear the numbers 21, 22 and 23 respectively.
