TAB have released the odds for the 2017 Rising Star Award - and now that the draft has wrapped up, the potential first-year bolters all have assigned clubs.

Here is the official media release:

GWS midfielder Jacob Hopper is TAB’s $6.00 favourite to be the round one nomination for the AFL Rising Star Award.

Hopper, who was nominated on debut in round eight last season after amassing 32 disposals, is on the first line of betting ahead of number three pick Hugh McCluggage ($8.00), North Melbourne second year midfielder Ryan Clarke ($8.00) and Essendon defender Aaron Francis ($8.00).

“Three out of the last four years the round one nominee has been a first-year big-bodied midfielder, so if punters back that formline, Sam Petrevski-Seton ($15), Will Brodie ($15) and Sam Powell-Pepper ($51) represent good value,” TAB’s Nick Quinn said.

Hopper is the $7.00 favourite to claim the award at year’s end, from McCluggage ($9.00) and Clarke ($9.00).
