Bucks Chooses Collingwood Post by: Danny Frawley 28 July, 2009 - 12:06 PM

"Hey Mick, Ive got a great idea. Why don't I become your understudy"

"Mmm... Nathan, that's just brilliant, why didn't I think of that."

It's been a busy week for Nathan Buckley and football meetings, first he declined an offer from North Melbourne, then he cancelled a meeting at Richmond. Which only left one thing, to head back to his spiritual home of Collingwood.

In a new deal, Nathan Buckley will be assistant coach for the next two years under Mick Malthouse and then Bucks will step into the senior role with Mick staying on for three more years as his mentor.

Both Malthouse and Buckley explained their new roles at a media conference.

Do you think this is Collingwood's best coaching option? Have your say.

Bucks has to do his apprenticeship somewhere at least he will be passionate about a team he loves rather than trying to look like he cares if he worked at North or Richmond. If we cant have Mark Williams then I wish Nathan Buckley all the best. We all complained when Leigh Matthews came and also Mick Malthouse - cant complain now with one of our own.
