Dale Steyn’s SAVAGE Sledge At Australia
Injured South African quick Dale Steyn has lashed out strongly at Australia on Twitter in the wake of the ball tampering investigation into Faf du Plessis after the second Test.
The ICC has charged du Plessis with ball tampering after footage surfaced of him apparently using a mint or a lolly to shine the ball during the Hobart Test.
The South Africans have reacted angrily to the investigation, with Hashim Amla labelling the allegations “ridiculous” and “a joke” in a press conference yesterday.
Meanwhile Steyn — who went home after suffering a shoulder injury at Perth — has his own thoughts on the subject, utterly savaging the Aussies on Twitter:
The sledge is particularly effective given Australia’s ineptitude in the series — they’ve been resoundingly trounced at home by a South African team that’s missing its best bowler in Steyn and its best bat in AB de Villiers.
Steyn has since tried to tone down his sledge a bit with this tweet making it clear he doesn't blame Australia:
Regardless, it looks like Steyn is just as deadly with a keyboard as he is with a cricket ball.
