Victorian Cricketer Nearly Spanks One Of The Fastest T20 Tons EVER In Local Cricket Match
Victorian cricketer Evan Gulbis nearly blasted an epic T20 ton in a Victorian Premier Cricket T20 on Saturday.
Playing for Prahran, Gulbis was sent in to open the batting, chasing down Frankston Peninsula's score of 6/116 off the full 20 overs.
By the time the 30-year-old walked off the field, Prahran had successfully chased down the target.
In just 7.2 overs.
Gulbis spanked 97 not out off just 29 deliveries, an innings in which he launched 12 fours and eight sixes, to help Prahran soar past the target.
The next highest score for the club? Shaun Miller's 11 not out, batting at three.
Miller's score was in fact part of a 106-run partnership with Gulbis - that's how one-sided the match was.
Actually, no - Gulbis took 3/29 opening the bowling. That's how one-sided the match was.
Gulbis is no mug with the bat: in two knocks for the Melbourne Stars last BBL he hit 61* off 52 balls and 25* off 21, and batted three times for Victoria in October's Matador Cup for quickfire scores of 22*, 25* and 31.
But this takes the cake.
