Flemington Races: More Ways To Travel Announced For 2016

Victoria Racing Club have announced the best ways to get to the races at Flemington, and for the very first time there will be dedicated Uber drop-off points to make life even easier.
The ride-sharing service has received permission from the Victoria Racing Club to have dedicated drop-off and pick-up zones at Flemington Racecourse over the four days of the carnival.
"We want racegoers to get to and from Flemington safely and with ease," Flemington executive general manager Mark Davies said in a statement on Thursday.
"These dedicated Uber zones will provide them with an additional transport option this Melbourne Cup Carnival."
Meanwhile, Victoria Racing Club and Metro Trains have announced that extra trains will be running to Flemington on race days, a highly recommended way to travel stress-free without worrying about traffic or parking.
Race day special trains will depart Flinders Street and Southern Cross, stopping at North Melbourne before going direct to Flemington. Train times can be checked on the VRC website here.
As for trams, the number 57 West Maribyrnong tram will run from Flinders Street. Flemington Drive is stop 30.
Bus route 472 from Williamstown, Footscray or Moonee Ponds to Fisher Parade lets you enter via Riverbank Entrance. And route 404 gets you to Smithfield Road via Stables Drive.
