Ricky Stuart Offically Signs Deal To Coach Parramatta Eels
It's official. After much media speculation, Ricky Stuart has formally announced that he is the new coach of the Parramatta Eels.
The NSW State of Origin coach has formally agreed to a three-year deal to take over at the Eels for the 2013 season and onwards.
At a media conference this morning, Ricky said he was impressed with the board members' vision of the club.
"When I sat down with Roy and Bob [Bentley], I could see how committed they were to their football team and wanting to win," Ricky said at a media conference today.
"It's a big club out here, it's a big challenge, and what I was excited about was the people who were involved are all desperate to be winners, and I like that attitude.
"For anyone who knows me, as soon as I adapt to new colours, new club, that's my club - that's the way I feel."
Ricky takes over from Stephen Kearney who resigned from his role last week after the Eels were last on the ladder with just four wins from 18 matches.
A number of clubs had been fighting for Ricky's signature including the Canberra Raiders. But the Eels won out in the end.
