Sonny Bill Williams will not play in a mouth-watering first game of the NRL season against his old club Bulldogs next year if strong rumours circulating are to be believed.

"It's [rumours] coming from Khoder Nasser and I don't respect him that much," says Gordon Tallis on Triple M's The Offload, "I'd like to hear what Sonny Bill has to say."

Matty Johns broke the news the "the highest profile rugby union" player would would sign with the Roosters next year on a one-year deal worth in excess of $800,000.

Bulldogs CEO Todd Greenberg has reportedly gone to the NRL and asked for a Roosters Bulldogs first game of the 2013 season.

However Sonny Bill's agent Khoder Nasser has reportedly thrown cold water on the mouth-watering clash saying that the Doggies won't be making any money off the back of SBW.

Matty Johns reckons this clash could be the "biggest advertisement for the NRL" however avid Roosters' fan Triple M's Gus Worland let loose on Sonny.

"You can't pick and choose games that he wants to play or not play. If he plays with us, he plays every game the coach selects him for," Gus told Triple M Sydney.

Sonny Bill is due to make an announcement in Auckland at 11am (NZ local time).

Mark "MG" Geyer says this press conference is a time for Sonny Bill to make amends for his actions four years ago when he walked out on the Doggies.

"This would be a perfect excuse for Sonny Bill...to say what I did four years ago was an error of judgement, I apologise to the Bulldogs fans and supporters. I can't wait to take you on next year."
