It’s on!!! With all the power and fury of a train wreck, the almighty AC/DC kicked off their Australasian tour last night in Wellington, NZ, with a mind-bending onslaught of classic rock.
Over 35,000 sweaty and peaking Kiwi rock fans were the first to experience Acca Dacca live on this side of the world for nearly a decade. It was actually the band’s first NZ gig in almost two decades.
And obviously, everyone in Westpac Stadium was absolutely gagging for it!
After the obligatory spectacular train crash to open the show, Brian Johnson made sure everyone was on the same page. “We are here to play rock and roll tonight and the party starts right now,” he declared. “It’s good to be back.”
Oh yeah!
From the opening “Rock & Roll Train” through to “For Those About To Rock”, it was two-and-a-half hours of utter classic Acca Dacca. Just simply awesome.
The band play two more shows in NZ – Wellington again tomorrow night and then Auckland next Thursday – before heading our way to open the Oz leg of the tour in Melbourne on February 11.

20th Feb cannot come earlier enough for me! I was at two of their Sydney concerts back 2001, and I was floored by the energy of the greatest Rock Band in the WORLD!

The greatest band on the planet about to blow the roof off Etihad stadium. It will be insane, they're sounding better than ever from concerts I've seen around the world, the wait is killing me!

Really looking forward to AC/DC in Sydney, and so are my 2 kids who are 11 and 13.
I only wish they'd play Jailbreak and Who Made Who... my kids love those songs, and Jailbreak is fantastic live.
