Rise Against's Confronting New Video

'I Don't Want To Be Here Anymore' is their heavy new song with a full-on video clip.

Rise Against - I Don't Want To Be Here Anymore Video: Rise Against Vevo

The new video by American punk-rockers Rise Against opens with two young kids sitting on a porch in 'South Side, Chicago'.

"Some people be shooting, and one man just get out a car and...'boom, boom', we've seen shootings about three or four times," says a young girl.

The rest of the clip for "I Don't Want To Be Here Anymore" splices vision of the band and some pretty full-on facts and clips of violence, shootings and other disasters.

The band is known for their activism supporting causes like Amnesty International.

The new clip comes off the back of their 7th LP, The Black Market which was released on July 15th.

It's not for the faint hearted but it is a bloody good clip.

Warning: Video contains graphic footage that might offend some viewers.

Billy Suprisingly Sane Rant

After accepting an award The Smashing Pumpkins frontman provides some sane advice for artists.

Billy Corgan At The Alternative Press Music Awards Photo: Getty Images

It's always a bit of a gamble when awarding Billy Corgan an award...is he going to go off on some crazy Corgan rant?!

At the Alternative Press Music Awards, Corgan was given the Vanguard Award, and did go off on a tagent, but also made some pretty sane points about the current state of rock music.

He started out in typical Corgan-esque cryptic style, "The kids rule, the kids always rule, the kids win and they should. I'm no legend, your favourite song is legend, your favourite band is legend, your favourite concert is legend, that's what makes it work."

But then expressed some interesting views on current music, "Every generation deserves its dreams, its bands, its voices and I'm glad to see those bands here tonight, it's awesome."

"[Talking about Joan Jett] Incredilbe artist, incredible career and yes it's a career, its called a career, it's ok. It's ok to sell things, it's ok to sell t-shirts, nobody gets hurt."

He also had some advice for new bands, "There's two paths you take when you first put on that guitar or sing that song and that's 'do I want to please the audience or do I want to push this audience's buttons' and in 'alternative music'...you have to really yell to push those buttons."

And his closing statement...back to classic Corgan...

"...I'm recieveing this in humility because I'm willing to push your buttons, because I'm willing to go tell you to go f*ck yourself. I didn't start a band to be anybodys b*tch, I started a band to kick your f*cking head in."

Cherry Bar Owner Concerned About Future

James Young is so concerned about the future of his landmark venue, he has started a ‘Save The Cherry Bar’ campaign.

Melbourne's iconic Cherry Bar in AC/DC Lane has made a public plea to help rescue it from potential closure.

Cherry Owner and Booker James Young says that a new 12-storey development raises a real risk of noise complaints which could force the venue to close.

"At Cherry Bar we’ve decided what we have to do is go through the expensive process of sound attenuating our building," Young explains.

"That means a brick wall behind the stage, that means double glazing of all our windows, it also means creating a special sort of double entry, vacuum seal at out front entrance,"

"The cost of works that we got from the builders is over $90,000. Now Cherry Bar, we are not crying poor because we are a successful business but we still can't afford $90,000 to fix something that in our opinion we don't think needs to be fixed"

"Our idea is that we want about a 1/3 contribution from our crowd, from the Cherry massive."

In a recent interview with Loudwire.com, Slash gave some awesome insights into the new album.

When asked what the most under-the-radar or favourite track on the album may be Slash explaind, "I don’t want to put any thoughts in people’s heads. I think it’s a real diverse record. I think it’s got a lot of gems on it. But there’s a song that a lot of people who have heard the record really like that surprised me called ‘The Dissident.’ It’s one of those songs that’s politically orientated lyrically. It’s got a different feel and for some reason, people are calling it really catchy. So that’s interesting, we’ll see what happens with that."

You know him as the drummer of AC/DC, his name is Phil Rudd and he has a new solo album coming out called Head Job, which will be out on August 29.

Triple M's Lee Simon went one-on-one with the great man from Phil's new home in New Zealand to find out what he's been working on privately and he found the drummer firing on all cylinders and absolutely pulling no punches on the music biz.

Topics on the table included who he thinks is the best drummer that ever lived, his thoughts on wildman Keith Moon ("he's a moron"), Ginger Baker and Deep Purple's Ian Paice and, of course, where the AC/DC album/tour is at. Listen to the full interview below.

At the time we'd heard just the one song, the single "Repo Man", and Phil gave us this warning: "Trust me. It's f***in good!"," he exclaimed. Scroll to the bottom of the page to listen to the single.

Young Girls Slay Slayer

Audrey & Kate cover Slayer's 'War Ensemble' and absolutely kill it (in the best way possible).

It looks like kids from a younger and younger age are getting into heavy metal.

We would've expected sisters Kate & Audrey to be into Mily Cyrus but there's always exceptions to the rule.

Playing a game called Rocksmith, the girls chose War Ensemble by Slayer and as you can see they nail it with Audrey smashing the riffs and solo's and Kate belting out Tom Araya's vocals in a very Slayer-esque style.

To be exact Metallica are actually looking for work in this new 'This Is Sports Center' commercial for ESPN.

The idea for the ad is that Metallica are looking for something to do after Mariano Rivera's retirement from baseball because Rivera would use 'Enter Sandman' as his walk in music from the bullpen.
