AC/DC Rocks Perth Post by: Dave-O 7 March, 2010 - 11:31 AM
It was Perth's turn on Saturday night to experience the awesome power of AC/DC and it didn't disappoint.
A few of the hometown locals made sure it was a night to remember with one pub going all out to welcome AC/DC to WA.
The Subiaco Hotel (a stone's throw away from tonight's venue, Subiaco Oval) renamed itself 'The Bon Scott Bar' as a tribute to their adopted hometown hero. They decked the hotel's car park out in lights and had a DJ playing wall-to-wall Acca Dacca from the arvo into the early hours.
By the time AC/DC hit the stage 45,000 screaming fans were ready to sing the words to every song and shake the city to its foundations.
There were no surprises in the set-list and Angus was absolutely incredible on lead guitar. His epic solo to finish off "Let There Be Rock" left Brian to remark, “I swear that boy has the devil in his fingers and the blues in his soul". Yep, you got that right.
The Black Ice tour plays its final Aussie show in Perth on Monday night before heading off to Japan.
Perth fans, tell us – how the hell was it?

All I can say as a rock afficionado, (but NOT usuallly a fan of bands when they get really big)... is that AC/DC are absolutely the most sensational experience that can be had on planet earth from 6 strings and a bunch of amplifiers. They by far exceeded my expectations so much so I would definitely go again and again.

It was a total awesome Concert. They just get better and better and better. But my favourite will always be the one at the Entertainment Centre 30 years ago, when the bell looked so huge and shook the entertainment centre and we shook all night. I nearly missed out on the tickets, but luckily enough I got some tickets from people who weren't too hungry for money. So I can say I saw them doing the pub gigs, then the Entertainment Centre, Burswood Dome (which wasn't a great place) to see them now Subiaco Oval.

I suppose I am one of the lucky ones to have seen the first one when the came back and now possibly the last one.
My god they have not lost it at all have they? They just get better and better. -

My ears were set ringing from the first string plucked from Angus Young's Guitar. The concert was an amazing experience with wonderful tributes to the great leader himself (Bon Scott) throughout.
A great set list ranging from the band's latest album right through to Bon Scott vintage.
The band was tight, Brian Johnson's vocal were on the pulse and there was never a dragging moment.
Younger bands of today are afraid of the hard work that goes into putting on a great show. The oldies can still rock harder.
Thank you AC/DC.
