Another Pearl Jam Snippet Post by: Eddie Ruckus - Rockin' Blogger 10 August, 2009 - 6:40 AM

Pearl Jam returned to the stage over the weekend, headlining Canada’s Virgin Music Festival in Calgary.

While we wait to hear reports from the show [Canada is a long way away], Pearl Jam has given us another snippet from the forthcoming Backspacer album to whet our appetities.

The latest 10-second clip is of the track “Amongst the Waves” and continues on the poppy new-wave direction we’ve heard from the album’s other songs so far.

As part of a mobile phone promotion over in the US, Pearl Jam will release these 10-second snippets/ringtones one-a-week from now on in the lead-up to Backspacer’s release in late-September.

Meanwhile, Eddie and the boys are on their way to London right now where they’ve got an intimate club show scheduled for tomorrow night.

We’ll bring you details of the latest gigs as soon as they come to hand.

What do you think of the latest snippet?

    Sounds great! Want more.

Bring on Sept for new CD and Nov for concert.

Hope I can survive the mosh pit at Etihad.

You can't really tell much from 10 seconds, but loving 'The Fixer' more and more with each listen.

Any snippet on PJ is fine. Can't wait for the ringtones, plus 3 concerts I'm going to, not to mention Backspacer in September!

Yeah I can't wait to see PJ. Too bad Ticketmaster stuffed up the tickets. It said ""Fixer Field" When we purchased them and when we checked on our account it said "Backspacer" So i'd check your ticketmaster account details and make sure it says fixer.

OMG I just checked my ticketmaster account and it says BACKSP too even though my confirmation yesterday clearly says FIXER field.

I will be SO annoyed when the tix turn up if they are not for Fixer. ARGH... Loving the new song. Can't wait to hear the rest of the album.

    Question
Why is BACKSP appearing on my order confirmation for my Pearl Jam tickets bought in the My Ticketmaster presale?

    Answer
"BACKSP" will appear on all order confirmations bought during the Pearl Jam My Ticketmaster presale, irrespective of the area of the stadium purchased.
