Creed Reform Post by: Music 28 April, 2009 - 7:33 AM

Depending on which side of boring you live, this could be the best or worst news you’ll hear all decade: After six years apart, the original line-up of Creed is – gulp! –set to release a new album and go out on tour again.

“I wouldn’t call it a reunion,” singer Scott Stapp told Rolling Stone magazine in the US overnight. “It’s a renewing and a rebirth. [Oh God, here we go!!!]

“I missed my boys and wanted to create music with them again. We’re all thrilled to have a second chance to make a first impression.”

The band will go out on tour in the US from August 6 and have already worked on six demos which will form the basis of a new album which they hope will be out before the end of the year. [If there really is a God, maybe the Swine Flu will have killed us all by then.]

The album is likely to be called Full Circle, named after one of the new songs. The Christian rockers have sold an incredible 26 million copies of their previous three studio albums in the US alone.

Seriously, there is no accounting for taste.

Creed reunion – what are your thoughts?

I'm surprised by the tone of this little article. I thought Creed's turgid brand of snooze-rock was right up Triple M's alley!

Firstly, I wouldn't really call them Christian rockers, since it's only Stapp who ever said he was a Christian, and Tremonti co-writes both music and lyrics.

Secondly, why the negative comments when you still play Creed?? (I'm glad you play them - just wish you'd play more of their old stuff from My Own Prison).

Thirdly, this is awesome news! I for one cannot wait to see them perform live again - they are awesome live performers - I can still feel the heat from the fireworks in their opening song!!

Fourthly, I just hope it doesn't mean the end for AlterBridge (according to Kennedy and the band, they're still planning to release album 3 next yr...)

You've got a lot of nerve criticising a band like Creed when you've got the likes of Katy Skanky Perry, the Veronicas and the half dozen whiny emo bands I can never bother to remember the names of.

Creed may be a little bland and mainstream at times but at least they still qualify as rock, keep their clothes on and don't lose half their body weight when they remove makeup and jewellery!

And yes, I'd prob go see Creed if they toured here.

Best news I have heard all year. Now when you play the new and old Creed how about playing bands of similar type, I want to hear more Shinedown, Three Days Grace, Three Doors Down, Breaking Benjamin, Seether and a REAL Christian band called RED, they might be Christian but their music kicks arse.
