Empire Of The Sun Win 3 ARIAs Post by: Eddie Ruckus - Rockin' Blogger 11 November, 2009 - 7:45 AM

Luke Steele’s Empire Of The Sun has taken a three-nil lead in this year’s ARIA Award count, even though the main ceremony is still three weeks away.

Empire made a virtual clean-sweep of yesterday’s ARIA Artisan & Fine Arts Awards, taking out the prizes for best cover art, best video [“Walking On A Dream”] and producer of the year.

“This record production was like quad chemistry,” Luke Steele explained in his usual humble fashion from his home spaceship in Perth.

“[Producer Peter] Mayes with the magic ear, Skittles [who we assume is his long lost partner Nick Littlemore], [co-producer Donnie] Sloan and Steele offering special ingredients. 4 scientists, 1 microscope, 1 formula.” What, no wankers?

Empire Of The Sun also have the most nominations – a total of six – going into this year’s main award ceremony, which is being held at Sydney’s Acer Arena on November 26.

Will anyone spoil Empire’s ARIA party this year? Who will take album of the year?

I still think Acca Dacca should win Album Of The Year.

Look the more Empire think they're great the more they sound like Sneaky Sound System. Give the Aria to AC/DC.
