UPDATE: The Foo Fighters are rapt to confirm their Aussie tour just got bigger with the announcement of more support bands. Alongside Tenacious D and punk band F**ked Up are a bunch of exciting bands from Oz and NZ including Calling All Cars (Perth, Adelaide), DZ Deathrays (Brisbane), Stonefield (Sydney) and Cairo Knife Fight (NZ).

Let's Rock! The Foo Fighters are bringing their massive rock show to Australia.

Triple M have teamed up with the Foo Fighters to present the biggest concert event of 2011. And it gets better with the news that the Fooies are bringing good mates Tenacious D (that's Jack Black's awesome outfit) and hardcore punks F**=ked Up along for the ride as support for all the shows.

We caught up with their livewire drummer, Taylor Hawkins over in the UK before their massive show at the Milton Keynes Bowl and he had a special message for all the Aussie fans out there. (Watch the video above).

It's going to be an epic concert and Triple M Melbourne's Higgo crapped his pants when he heard the news... metaphorically, of course.

"The fact that the Fooies are coming back makes me so happy I might s**t in my hand and clap furiously!" he laughed.

Over in Sydney, Triple M's Alexis screamed with excitement. "I might explode into tiny pieces so I can scatter the moshpit with more of me to see the gig from every angle. I’m f*%ing pinging about seeing the Foos live again!".

While Triple M's Jo Lynch in Brisbane said: "What could be better than the Foo Fighters on the Gold Coast in SUMMER! I love that they’ve given us time to learn the new album so we’ll know every song in their epic set!".

Fooies frontman Dave Grohl told Triple M earlier in the year that the band are pumped by their new album Wasting Light and to expect a similar concert to the one they put on in Sydney Harbour last March.

"The band right now feels so energised by the new album, and the five-piece and the amount of material we have to pull from, " said Dave.

Fooies are the ultimate. I took my kids (11 & 15) to see em in 2008, they still rave about it. Love to see em with the D.

You can not believe how excited I am! I have been waiting all year to hear this news! Been telling my kids how these guys are THE best band I have ever seen live ( and I have seen a few!), so now I will take them to worship the extreme coolness that is Dave Grohl and his awesome band The Foo Fighters! Aaaaarrrrgh!!!!!

Was so freekin excited this morning, organised a group of us including contacting my brother in the UK so we could purchase tickets for a group of us, only for it to dawn on me that its on the same day as my best mates wedding at which I have best man duties, obviously I let him know that he needs to shift the wedding....
