Happy Birthday, Bon Jovi!!!! Post by: Eddie Ruckus 2 March, 2010 - 8:33 AM
Happy birthday, Jon!!!! The great Jon Bon Jovi turns 48 today. Unbelievable, right?
To celebrate Jon’s birthday and honour the man himself, we decided to take a moment to list the Top 10 reasons that we will always love the Jov.
1. That hair
Throughout his career, Jon Bon Jovi has proudly flaunted some of the best/worst hair the world of rock has ever, ever seen, and yet somehow he’s managed to survive it. From the lion mane of the 1980s through to the recent rumours of possible impending baldness, that hair has only enhanced rather than diminished the potency of the Jov.
2. That name
Very early on, he had the good sense to change the spelling of his name. Like, seriously, would many of us have ever worn t-shirts saying “Bongiovi”?
3. Charity
In 2006, he founded the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, a charity that tackles homelessness across the US. Jon is spending his spare time between gigs on the band’s current Circle tour visiting homeless shelters to work out how to improve the foundation’s work.
4. What a guy
Who else would have put up with Richie Sambora’s crap for so long?
5. Looking good
Jon is arguably the least f**ked up rocker of his generation. Just look at the other stars of the hair-band era – any member of, say, Motley Crue, Poison or the Gunners. God, just look at Richie!
6. Solo career
Did he ever really need the rest of Bon Jovi? His solo hits would suggest no, and yet he’s remained faithful for almost three decades.
7. Family man
He could have had anyone – anyone!!! – yet he’s stayed faithful to his childhood sweetheart/wife Dorothea forever.
8. He can act
He’s had a sideline in movies and TV, but never let that affect his real art.
9. He can’t act
But that’s never stopped him trying.
10. Well, obviously, THE MUSIC!!!
“You’ve got to hold on to what you’ve got …”
Happy birthday, Jon. Thank you for the music. Thanks for being you!!!!
Your turn – why do you love Mr Jon Bon Jovi?

There are a thousand reasons to love the Bonj, but you've pretty much covered them all (the good ones anyway!!).
What I love most about him? He doesn't have attitude, he is giving back to the community (whilst not having to sprout his message constantly, yes, I'm looking at you Bono!!), he is a fantastic singer and entertainer and he's still HOT at 48!!
That pretty much covers it!! Happy Birthday Jon, see you in OZ sooner rather than later.
