Jimmy Barnes has ripped off the suit and delivered what some of us at the station are claiming to be his best song in years.
Admittedly, the Aussie rock legend has in recent times been hard-pressed to deliver us a song as memorable as "Working Class Man", but his new song "Before The Devil Knows You're Dead" may just change all that.
Firstly, it's a return to his rock roots and on first listen it's so bloody "Barnsey" you'd be forgiven in thinking it was recorded in 1988!
This may have something to do with the s**t hot session musicians he has playing on the album, while the guy behind-the-desk is regular collaborator Don Gehman (REM, John Mellencamp) who worked on Barnesy's The Rhythm And The Blues album.
The new album Rage & Ruin is out on August 13.
Meanwhile, for all you footy heads out there Barnesy will be playing three songs before kick off at next week's State Of Origin. Plus, he is also rumoured to be doing a solo show at the Annandale Hotel in Sydney at the end of this month.
