Iron Maiden Coming To Australia Post by: Dave-O 3 August, 2010 - 10:00 AM

All you metal heads out there we have some awesome tour news for you.
We can reveal that the legendary Iron Maiden are strongly tipped to be here in Australia in February next year.
Music reporter Nui Te Koha revealed this exclusive news to us today: "Iron Maiden, the British new wave hard rockers, are strongly tipped to headline the Soundwave festival."
Having sold over 75 million albums these blokes are the reigning champions when it comes to metal. We're hoping they come down under in their own plane "Ed Force One" which they've had since 2007 and is sometimes flown by singer and commercial pilot Bruce Dickinson!
The Soundwave festival will be here in February 2011. And it will be Iron Maiden's first tour of Australia since 2008.
The festival has become a serious alternative to the Big Day Out and with a massive 54 international rock bands on the bill, including Iron Maiden and, wait for it… Slash, it's shaping up as a rip-snorter.
"I can confirm that Slash is on the bill for next year," he said. "Slash is here next week obviously but he'll be back for Soundwave next year."

As an Iron Maiden Fan Club Member this is exciting news... and welcome back to the Irons.
Saw them at all Aussie shows in 2008 and I am itching to see them again.

I must be the only person dissapointed at this - I want to see an Iron Maiden headline show, not pay for a festival where they are, at the moment, the only band I would actually care to see.
