All you parents looking for something to entertain the kids while giving them a solid musical eduction, well this is for you.

Slash has written and performed a tune for the Disney animated flick, Phineas and Ferb: The Movie - Across the 2nd Dimension.

The ex-Guns N' Roses guitarist and father of two told the Blabbermouth website that the show, created by Dan Povenmire (Family Guy) and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh (The Simpsons), was a "guilty pleasure" to work on and described it as being "very rock n' roll even for a cartoon".

As you can hear in the official 30-second preview posted on YouTube, the song titled "Kick It Up A Notch" has all the hallmarks of the great man. It's epic, it rocks and has the kind of insane riff that we hope will have kids in a few years time reaching for the Gunners albums all you parents have in your record collection.

Slash will also appear in the video to launch the movie so if you watch the clip and notice someone that looks remarkably like the legendary top-hatted guitarist you are not hallucinating.

Oh, and what's the movie about? The animated film  follows Phineas Flynn and his stepbrother Ferb Fletcher on a big action-adventure as their pet platypus, who they found out doubles as a secret agent, leads them on a battle against the evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz.

Phineas and Ferb: The Movie—Across the 2nd Dimension is out on DVD on August 23.
