Muse For Big Day Out Post by: Eddie Ruckus - Rockin' Blogger 23 September, 2009 - 7:08 AM

Muse, this week’s album chart-toppers, will headline next January’s Big Day Out festival.

One of the biggest bands in the UK for years now, Muse finally broke through in Australia this week in a huge way with the trio’s latest album, The Resistance, debuting at No. 1 on the ARIA album charts.

Muse are no newcomers to the BDO – they’ve toured with the circus twice before, in 2004 and 2007.

Another very hot tip for next year’s bill, which is by no means confirmed at this stage, is that David Bowie will be the show's superstar attraction.

Bowie was very, very close to appearing on the Big Day Out a few years back, but the plans fell over at the last minute.

We hear it’s very, very close to happening again this time and that it might be an ultra-rare acoustic set.

The first official announcement from the Big Day Out camp is expected in coming weeks but, trust us, you can bet your house on Muse.

Are you a Muse fan? Or a Bowie fan? Who else would you love to see at the BDO?

    OMG! This is brilliant!!

If David Bowie is half as good as Neil Young was last year I'll be a very happy man

This is why the BDO has become a complete joke.

Wuss rockers like Muse are all you get these days. What happened to the legendary bands at BDO: Rammstein, RHCP, Marilyn Manson, Limp Bizkit, System Of A Down, etc.

It seems they want to encourage teeny boppers and old farts now.

Soundwave 2010 is the only festival worth going to anymore, bands like Faith No More, My Chemical Romance, Escapte The Fate, now that's a rock show!

I am a huge MUSE fan and I can't wait for them to come to Australia this is great news for me and my best friend and i bet thousands more.

As for Adam - Muse isn't Teeny Bopper music. It actually means something rather than listening to people like My Chemical Romance that complain about there mascara getting in their eyes.

Oh. My. Gosh. I am happy to hear that Muse is playing (love Hysteria) but I'd be ECSTATIC if David Bowie played!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!!

I'd literally jizz in my pants if the Red Hot Chili Peppers would perform but I highly doubt they will because they'd be getting an album together. If they did though them+Bowie+Muse= THE PERFECT BDO!
