Pearl Jam Go Supersonic Post by: Eddie Ruckus - Rockin' Blogger 20 August, 2009 - 7:41 AM
Pearl Jam played their first huge show in ages last night when they took to the stage at London’s O2 Arena in front of some 25,000 fans.
It was another completely unique performance from the boys, including the unveiling of another new track from Backspacer, “Supersonic”, as well as a completely unexpected tribute to Michael Jackson, who was supposed to be in the middle of his 50-date run of shows at the O2 Arena right now.
Eddie Vedder dedicated his cover version of the Jackson ballad “Ben” “to a man who was supposed to take to this stage”.
Meanwhile, one reviewer described the new song “Supersonic” as “a fast-paced romp with a dirty bridge in the middle featuring a spine-tingling riff from Mike McCready”.
We like the sound of that. Check the song out for yourself in the clip above.
