Pearl Jam Treasure Hunt Post by: Eddie Ruckus - Rockin' Blogger 30 July, 2009 - 6:26 AM

Pearl Jam has revealed the cover art for its upcoming new album, Backspacer.

The band sent fans on a crazy treasure hunt overnight, spreading nine separate pieces of artwork across a variety of music websites on the internet.

Pieces featured on Pearl Jam-friendly pages such as the sites for rock magazines like Spin, Rolling Stone and Q.

Fans had to find each piece, click on the artwork which would then be added to a patchwork page back at Pearl Jam’s own website.

Those who managed to find all nine pieces were rewarded with a download of another new Pearl Jam song, “Speed Of Sound”, which will also feature on Backspacer.

How fun? The artwork was designed by a cartoonist mate of the band with the fantastic name of Tom Tomorrow.

Backspacer is due September 20.

What do you think? Pretty clever, hey?
