It’s only been hours since the world got to hear Pearl Jam’s new single, 'The Fixer', and already it’s set fans and critics buzzing about what to expect from the new album, Backspacer, when it drops in September (check out the wicked single cover above).
Some are saying it sounds a bit like The Foo Fighters, other say Bruce Springsteen, others still say Cheap Trick [what the …?]. I reckon it’s just classic Pearl Jam. Yeah-yeah-yeah-yeah!

Fantastic new song! Certainly show that after 9 studio albums, they can still pump out some great songs!
Love the guitar work, the drums are awesome, and Eddie's voice is perfect, as usual!

Very average tune... especially for Pearl Jam's standards...
Nothing to it. Boring. Unfinished. Rushed - Just sloppy...
Was hoping there would be some sort of positive evolution for new stuff, not a complete step backwards.
Doesn't sound at all like the Pearl Jam we know and love.
Very disappointed....
If anyone thinks this is the best song they have done in ages, well I think we're listening to different bands...
