Powderfinger Free Show Post by: Eddie Ruckus - Rockin' Blogger 25 November, 2009 - 7:30 AM

This week’s album chart-toppers Powderfinger have announced a free gig in Sydney on December 6.

The Fingers will front up to the Entertainment Quarter in Moore Park the day after headlining the sold-out Homebake festival in Sydney’s Domain on December 5.

The free show is part of the government-funded Australian Skin Cancer Awareness Campaign and will kick off at 5PM. If you’re not in Sydney, the show is being filmed and will premiere on Channel 9 on Thursday, 17th Dec at 7.30pm and Channel [V] on Saturday, 19th Dec at 5pm.

It’s been a big week for the Fingers with their new album Golden Rule topping the charts, selling almost twice as many copies as the record in the number 2 spot.

It makes it their fifth straight number one album, a record they once again share with Silverchair.

This week also sees the release of the second single from Golden Rule, “Burn You Name”. The band filmed the clip for the song in Thailand earlier this month during that country’s “Festival Of Lights”.

So, who’s been playing Golden Rule to death? What are your favourite tracks?
