It is one of the most influential albums of all time and now it's getting the special treatment it deserves.

Nirvana's Nevermind has reached it's 20th anniversary this week - yes, it's really been twenty years - and to celebrate the classic album is being released as a multi-formatted monster box set containing an incredible amount of music.

The Super Deluxe Edition comes as a mouth-watering 4-CD/1-DVD set, which includes previously unreleased tracks, rarities, b-sides, BBC radio appearances, alternative mixes, rare live recordings, and DVD of a 1991 Halloween concert at Seattle's Paramount Theatre (watch video above, and ignore the US release date because we're getting four days earlier).

Interview: Krist Novoselic Remembers Nevermind
Bassist and Nirvana founding member Krist Novoselic spoke to Triple M's Higgo about the monster box set, what it was really like working with Kurt Cobain and Nirvana, and what he's been up to since the band's demise. Listen and download the uncut interview below.

Since Nevermind came out in 1991 it's sold 30 million copies worldwide and Triple M Brisbane's Johnno rates as one of those albums that still stands up today.

"This is a record that inspired a whole generation of kids to pick up musical instruments and make rock music. There’s nothing more powerful than that." he said. "Nevermind sits comfortably at the table with Led Zeppelin IV, AC/DC's Back In Black and U2's The Joshua Tree. It’s THAT good!"

While, Triple M Sydney's LoveRod remembers the Nirvana mania that swept the world when the album first came out.

"Everyone had [the album], the checked flannelette shirt and the Nevermind T –Shirt to go underneath," he remembered.

"I heard "Smells Like Teen Spirit" at the same time I saw the video on Rage and whilst it was rock, I remember it was rock no-one else was [doing] at the time."

Here is a complete list of the multi-formatted versions, including for those that don't have the cash to splash.
- 4-CD/1-DVD set including previously unreleased tracks, rarities, b-sides, BBC radio appearances, alternative mixes, rare live recordings, and DVD.
- 2-CD Deluxe Edition, featuring the remastered album and B-sides, the Smart Studio sessions, boombox rehearsals and BBC session.
- 4-LP, 180-gram heavyweight vinyl edition featuring the same 40 tracks as the Deluxe Edition.
