Every boy has a rock n' roll fantasy and Silverchair's one came true courtesy of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Speaking to Triple M's Chit Chat backstage at the Groovin' The Moo Festival, Chris Joannou and Ben Gillies regaled us with some classic backstage tales from their time on the road with the Chili Peppers (and if you haven't read Anthony Kiedis' warts n' all autobiography 'Scar Tissue,' then do it now!).
The Newcastle boys were just sixteen-years-old, it was their first tour overseas following the mega success of Frogstomp and the Chilis wanted to give them an onstage party to remember.
"There's always end-of-tour pranks and we were scared of the Chili Peppers because they were older than us," recalls Joannou.
"So we walk on stage and within 10 minutes these two strippers with little black knickers and their tits out started running around the stage!
"I was f***ed because I was sitting at the kit and I couldn't move... I was getting a nice ear massage!", he laughed.
They went out boys and came home men.
