Slash Rules Aussie Press Conference Post by: Dave-O 27 April, 2010 - 6:00 PM
Slash made a brief appearance before a packed media scrum in Melbourne ahead of his MTV gig (see the video above).
Photographers and TV crews jostled for prime position to get a shot of the legendary guitarist (which explains why our camera had the wobbles!) as he took the stage for his first official press conference in Oz.
Wearing his trademark top hat and leatherpants, the former Gunner looked every bit the rock god. The only thing missing were the ciggies, which he has apparently given the flick.
Slash joked with Molly Meldrum, who was MC for the event and answered questions about his new album (which is absolutely killer, and we're not just saying that), his time with Gunners and a run-in with teenage pop star Justin Beiber.
There was one embarrassing moment when Molly asked him to dedicate the song "Hold On", from his new album, to his fave footy team, the Melbourne Storm. Slash politely smiled and nodded.
Angry Anderson was also at the event answering questions about his friendship with Slash, but Andrew Stockdale was a no-show. According to Slash he missed his flight. So the Wolfmother singer effectively stood-up Slash. The cheek!
Tell us how much are you looking forward to this gig?

Good old Molly... funny as always (waiting for him to throw those papers everywhere). I'm not sure if Slash got the Melbourne Storm connection to his song (Hold On) - goes with it anyway.. LOL. Can't wait to see him in August.
