Fev Really Wanted To Go To Collingwood Post by: The Hot Breakfast 23 September, 2009 - 8:53 AM

Update (13/10): I Really Wanted Magpies

In an exclusive for the Triple M Hot Breakfast, Fev told them that in the last hours of trade week he had hoped that he would end up at Collingwood or St.Kilda.

He even rang Eddie to see if he could make something happen. Listen to Fev on wanting to be a Magpie and he talks about what happened at the Brownlow.

Update (9/10): It's On: Fev Is Going To The Lions

Brendan Fevola has become a Lion after the completion of the trade period’s blockbuster deal.

In the deal, Carlton will receive young key position player Lachlan Henderson and Brisbane’s first-round draft pick, number 12, in exchange for Fevola and Carlton’s second-round draft pick, number 27.

More details to come.

Lion players Daniel Bradshaw and Mike Rischitelli both decided not to move down south to Carlton. The pair were shown through Carlton's Visy Park facilities and put them through medical screenings, after All-Australian full-forward Fevola agreed yesterday to a four-year offer to be traded north.

Blues fans staged a 'Save Fev' rally at their ground last weekend, but it appears at this stage nothing is going to save Fev from going to another club.

The story has taken twist and turns during trade week, it has all unfolded since his escapades at the Brownlow.

"The Carlton Football Club has advised Brendan Fevola and his management that it will be working to secure a trade that will see Brendan join another club during next week's AFL Exchange Period."

The Blues will need to work hard to find a suitable deal, considering that Fev reportedly commands $700,000 per year.

Whispers from around the country suggest that St Kilda, Brisbane and Collingwood are the front-runners to pick him up.

25/9: Eddie McGuire speaks exclusively to Brendan Fevola following the airing of a portion of his now infamous Street Talk segment (above).

In the clip, Fevola is clearly inebriated and harrasses footballers Chris Judd and Essendon legend James Hird.

24/9: New footage of Brendan Fevola's wild night out has surfaced. In the clip from AFL Game Day: Season's Best edition, Fev is seen giving jockey Simon Marshall some expletive-laden stick.

There's also vision of Chris Judd's stunning girlfriend, Rebecca Twigley, who's a qualified speech therapist, giving her expert opinion on Fev's oratorial performance on the night.

Eddie McGuire hinted that Fev's career at Nine could be in serious jeopardy.

23/9: Carlton star Brendan Fevola has been axed from the Grand Final edition of The Footy Show after his alcohol-fuelled antics at the Brownlow.

Channel Nine has informed the Blues spearhead that his expletive-laden Street Talk segment was simply too rude to put to air.

The Herald Sun reported that Fevola enjoyed himself far too much on Monday night. He was seen knocking over other player's drinks, smoking cigarettes in the rain and vomiting. According to Fev, he has little, if any, recollection of the night.

Exclusive: Listen to Eddie and The Hot Breakfast put Fev in the hot seat.

Fev might have mucked up, but there's about 15000 blokes each weekend who get up to the same stuff. Tall Poppy once again.

With serial offenders like Fev, I'm all for banning alcohol - at least at major events. It's disatrous for Fev, his teammates, the league and impressionable youngsters.

How many 'chances' and 'fair gos' does this idiot deserve, particularly given the message Victoria is trying to get across in relation to binge drinking.
This man needs to grow up and be made accountable for his actions. I am REALLY tired of people in the media making excuses for him. It is hardly assisting him address his appalling behaviour (how many times is it now Brendan?).
The sad thing is he seems to be a decent individual when sober!!

Yes he should be axed, yes he can have a few drinks at the brownlow but to get absolutly hammered and he doesnt remember it, thats just too far. He has had his chances, its about time that he learns and get punished for his bad actions.

Fev, at home we all love you, even my Saints supporting 5 year old son, and I understand nobody should tell you what you can do in your own free time, regardless of your status. Two things wrong here however, the brownlow is like part of your job so it's like "drinking on the job" and I hear you're going to be a father (congrats) and we've all had to grow up and accept that responsibility. Here's hoping when you baby comes you will change some of your bad habits. Cheers

I am sure Brendan feels really bad about this. He will need to sort through some issues. I am very surprised that the footy show axed him yet they continue to tolerate Sam Newman's sexist, racist comments every week.

You bet he should be axed...and about time. Why the Footy Show supports him is beyond me. Maybe now we will see someone with a slight trace of intelligence.
