INXS at the Triple M Hot Breakfast Friday Live event at the Precinct Hotel in what turned out to be a significant performance for lead singer JD Fortune.

Three hundred lucky Triple M listeners crammed into the Melbourne venue and not one of them left disappointed with the show they saw.

JD Fortune told Triple M’s Hot Breakfast in between songs that this was the first time he truly felt accepted by the INXS fans.

“I’m so proud to be here in Australia because we’ve been around the world and this is the first time I think I’ve ever really felt like this band is really becoming accepted for what we are,” he said.

In his exclusive interview with Mieke Buchan that can be viewed in the above player, he believes that, despite still battling the odd demon, he and his band-mates are now growing together.

The most poignant part of the concert occurred when the fellas performed the new, stripped-back version of the classic ‘Don’t Change’.

The rendition was overwhelmingly well-received by the punters and Jon Farris told Triple M’s Hot Breakfast it was the obvious choice to try and recreate.

“It seemed to be the classic sort of track to attempt to do the antithesis of – a classic anthemic rock track,” Jon said.

“We just stripped it right back and got into some choralling with the vocals ... It’s almost a bit haunting in a way and it’s quite emotional to record and to perform.”

  This Australian tour with JD Fortune & INXS has been just phenomenal, judging by the pictures, videos, articles & concert reviews. I have been a fan of JD Fortune for 5 years and INXS for 28 years, and I'm so happy to see the guys touring and sharing these fantastic songs with the fans again. I would love to hear the new material JD & INXS are working on as well. I also know firsthand that JD has done amazing solo work and I cannot wait for it to be released. I'll be seeing JD & INXS in Toronto in just 2 1/2 weeks...I've waited 3 1/2 years and I couldn't be happier. Thanks, guys and thanks, Triple M!

  I was there: the highlight was JD Fortune!!, & the announcement that he is now a full time member of INXS, and is no longer a guest singer....wow that boy can woo a crowd !!

  I was there on Friday morning! Highlight for me was INXS playing Love Is (What I say) which is my favourite song of theirs! Also, standing next to Mieke wasn't too bad either! :)

  I was listening over the internet from New Jersey, and I loved the concert! JD Fortune and INXS always put on a fantastic live show. Beautiful Girl and Love Is were my favorite songs.....absolutely magnificent.

  I'm also really impressed that anyone can sing that well at 7 AM....I can barely manage to talk some days at that time.
