Okay it might be possible to buy a house for a dollar, but what about free food? Would you eat free food that had been taken from a dumpster outside a food store? A freegan - is like a vegan - but they eat free food. Check out the pics to learn more.

Here is the lovely gem of a home in downtown Detroit. When we say downtown, we mean downtown, it is literally 2 miles from 8 Mile. Yep, that run down area that Eminem made famous. We're not saying it's rough and ready, but even the Mayor is bad-ass. He just got arrested and is up on serious criminal charges.
Let's see what it's got. It could be used as a 2 family home, or a single family home. It features some windows, large open kitchen (because the kitchen has been stolen) 2 full bathrooms with plenty of room (those were stolen too), a formal diningroom (too eat in when the kitchen is replaced) 4 bedrooms, and a livingroom. It has new siding on the front of the home (for now).
Obviously it's a bargain for a buck, but you do need to know that the new owner will have to pay approximately $US1100 in city taxes every year. Also, it's estimated that the cost of making it liveable is at least $US25,000.
