Matthew Parkinson, born Perth W.A., began acting at school and studied Theatre Arts at the old Curtin University). His Professional career began in Perth at the 'Hole In The Wall' Theatre Company where he appeared in 'Hamlet', 'The Cherry Orchard', 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', and the title role in Ben Johnson's 'The Alchemist'.
There's more to Matt "Parko" Parkinson than just a highly original nickname. You might remember him as one half of comedy duo 'Empty Pockets' who used mindless violence and one-liners to grab your attention on 'The Big Gig'. Or you may recall him winning the lot on 'Sale of the Century' back in the classic days of Glenn Ridge hosting. Perhaps you've seen him as a member of the Brains Trust on ABC-TV's Einstein Factor? * He owns three small dogs* He refers to his partner by the codename 'Supergirl'
* He follows the West Coast Eagles in the AFL
* He likes cheese and bacon , frequently together.
* He has a weakness for Steely Dan songs and often pops on the headphones in the studio when 'Hey Nineteen' gets played
* He is the spitting image of golfer Nick O'Hern
* He feels weird writing about himself and sometimes he'll just rack off to get a cheese and bacon sandwich.
