Wil & Lehmo Podcasts

The powers-that-be wanted to call this podcast "The Best Bits Of Wil & Lehmo". We like to think of it more like the "Least Crap Bits of Wil & Lehmo".

Wil Anderson plays the part of 'Wil' in Triple M's spankin' new drive-time show Wil and Lehmo.

Wil Anderson is an Australian based stand-up comedian who started doing comedy because it was indoor work with no heavy lifting and plus you can drink at work which they don't let you do if you are a pilot. Although he does believe if pilots sounded a bit pissed people might pay more attention to the inflight safety demonstration.)

Some of you might know him as "the bloke who sat in the middle" on the ABC's AFI-Award winning The Glass House for five years or "the one who didn't know anything about maths" on the much loved Triple J Breakfast show or even "that bloke who hosts Spicks and Specks." (That last one is actually Adam Hills, but he does get that a lot.)

He is also author of the book Survival Of The Dumbest which has the proud honour of "being over 250 pages long without photos" and if you live in NSW or Victoria he is that bloke who writes the articles in the Sunday Magazine that aren't about recipes for muffins or what celebrities "can't live without". (Although he did once write an article about Celebrities Who Can't Live Without Muffin Recipes.)

After the recent boning of his TV show due to too many jokes about Amanda Vanstone, Anderson had been spending most of his time standing in local shopping malls with a cardboard sign around his neck that says "Will Tell Jokes For Food" until the good people at Triple M offered him a job driving a Black Thunder.

Somehow due to administrative bungle, this offer has somehow resulted in him ending up hosting their new national drive program "Wil And Lehmo" (he will be playing the part of Wil)

From April Wil will also embarking on the latest of his pun-based stand-up shows, Wil Of God, which promises to run the gamet from tightly written beautifully constructed world-class stand-up and searing social commentary, to a whole bunch of dick jokes for cash.

In 2006 Wil performed his Wil Communication tour in front of over 40,000 people in more than 35 cities across this wide brown land, and also played to sell-out audiences at both the Montreal Just For Laughs and Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Clearly we've all learned from John Howard that you shouldn't trust foreigners, but here's what some of them said about Wil's show:

"A sharp and pacy torrent of jokes delivered with a skill that's worth savouring" The List.

"Like Adam Hills on speed, Australian comedian Wil Andersons new show is brilliant... an hour in his company flies by all too quickly." The Stage.

"A statically-charged ball of energy. Anderson is a master of constructing a situation and finishing it off with a killer one-liner in the time it takes most comedians to drawl: Say, whats the deal with this war on terror?" Skinny Fest.

" **** What a funny Aussie... there is enough material here to fill two hours, making the one he has sprint by. A higher laugh-per-minute rate than anyone I've seen before...'Ando' is a comic gem." Three Weeks (UK)
