Freo are just plain annoying... see below1. Tipping is Bloody Hard
Toughest weekend to tip for a while... thought the Hawks were good things. Bombers smoked them. Was sure the Blues would bounce back and the Dockers couldn't travel. Wrong. Thought the Tigers would win at home as the Lions were weak at the MCG. Incorrect. Didn't think the Dogs would like their third road trip in seven weeks and didn't think the Crows would lose 4 home games in a row. Think again Muppet.
There are only 4 certainties in life right now - death, taxes, the Saints and the Cats. Keep picking the last two and work out how to avoid the first two.
2. Saints are Seriously Good
Not a landmark statement, but we have called them three or four times this year and seeing them play 'live' gives you the feeling that this is a very different Saints outfit from years gone by. Since Rd 13 last year they have only lost four games (Cats, Hawks, Eagles in Perth and Pies in the 'Shaw and Didak' game). Right now they are fast, injury free, confident and going as well as any side in the comp. Injuries, reports etc can stop any team, but right now there is a chasm between the Cats and the Saints and the pack.
I reckon we might be seeing the start of a really good period for the Saints. They have great players on every line, no weaknesses, and are smashing whoever they play. 7/0 and a monster percentage. Feel sorry for Harves.
3. Monday Night Football Worked
A massive crowd and massive ratings. The AFL is tinkering with the fixture and trying to find where they will slot their 9th game each weekend when they need it in a few years with the new teams coming in and I think Monday night will be a very big option. Plenty of reasons why it won't be everyone's cup of tea with young kids, school the next day and a late finish, but if they fixture in blockbusters and can kick things off at 7ish each Monday, I think it will be a part of our future.
There are a myriad of if's and but's, but I really like it. Think it may be a blend of Thursdays, Saturday twilight and Mondays in the end, but I am a buyer of "Monday Night Football".
4. Dockers are Annoying
I said tip against them and you will keep smiling... not sure anymore. Three straight and I haven't even thought about tipping them. They beat the unbeaten Dogs at home, the the Eagles in the Derrrrrrby and then Carlton in Queensland... they were 'none from eight' in Queensland before Saturday night.
What is going on! Their record against the reining premiers in Subiaco is unbelievable - have beaten every reigning premier in Subiaco they have played except that Cats last year (Pav hit the post with twenty seconds to go to lose by a point). Dare I say it... but I am going to tip the Doc... I can't even write it, but you know what I mean.
5. 12 Doesn't Fit into 2
Two teams are fighting for 3rd and 4th and the double chance. Dockers have won three straight, are 14th, and a game off 3rd. No idea how it all plays out from here. Pies have too many injuries right now, Bombers keep surprising, Dockers are winning when I am sure they won't, Crows are not winning when they look like they will. Twelve teams fighting for the double chance. Keeps every footy fan excited.
Hope your team had a win, and looking forward to 'LBJ' coming back soon. Reckon they will give him another week but I love the great man.

How good were the Saints, they belted Collingwood like nothing else. Great news for TV ratings, more people watched the Maggies get flogged than any other game this year.

Tipping is proving to be a bugger, last week i tipped 3 and went against most of those teams this week and got 2.
