Collingwood football director Neil Balme has become the latest person to call for the sub rule to be scrapped at the end of the season.
Balme had a go at the rule on the Thursday Rub when quizzed as to why Paul Seedsman was named in the green vest for tonight's game between Collingwood and Fremantle at Domain Stadium.
"For some reason some clown reckons it’s a good idea to have a sub," Balme told Triple M Footy.
"I’m not too sure who that is but unfortunately one of the 22 has to be a sub."
Balme follows in the footsteps of coaches Paul Roos and Phil Walsh asking the AFL to return to 4 players on the bench.
"I think it’s a bit unnecessary personally," Balme said.
