The AFL Commission will meet on November 15 to decide the fate of Jobe Watson’s 2012 Brownlow Medal.

Now that the appeal lodged by the ‘Essendon 34’ with the Swiss Federal Tribunal has been confirmed to be unsuccessful, Watson’s chances of hanging onto the medal appear to have taken a massive hit.

Watson and 33 of his current and former teammates were found guilty of doping in season 2012 by the Court of Arbitration for Sport in January and were each handed a season-long suspension this year.

If Watson is stripped of the Brownlow Medal, Hawthorn champion Sam Mitchell and Richmond captain Trent Cotchin could be awarded it as they finished equal second in 2012.
