Brent Harvey has announced on Twitter that he will be playing for North Heidelberg in 2017.

Brent Harvey's future seems to be looking more likely - and it involves playing in Division 2.

Northern Football League club North Heidelberg is confident they will sign Boomer in the coming weeks for the 2017 season, according to the club president.

As reported by LeaderKen Gillett thinks the result is "fairly likely".

“Listening to what everyone else has to say and without having direct knowledge, I would say it is fairly likely he will play with North Heidelberg,” Gillett said.

“Someone sent me an email the other day and someone fairly close to him said it was about 90 per cent.

“He is going to be a drawcard, for not only us, but for the whole Northern league.”

By joining the club, the 38-year old would be joining his brother, Shane Harvey.

The AFL games record holder was delisted in August by North Melbourne, but would be a major drawcard for the local club.

“His manager has said that if he doesn’t get a guernsey anywhere else he’ll be playing at North Heidelberg with Shane,” Gillett said.

“From the club’s perspective, it would be like a dream come true.

“Boomer is great mates with a lot of the guys down at the club, he is a good supporter of the club and he has always been very good to the club.

“It would be great.”
