Bulldogs Defender Requests Trade To Freo
Western Bulldogs key defender Joel Hamling has requested a trade to Fremantle.
The 23-year-old played 23 games for the Dogs across the last two seasons, including the drought-breaking grand final win against Sydney.
Hamling — originally from the small town of Denmark in WA — moved to the Bulldogs from Geelong in the 2014 trade period after three seasons without cracking the senior side.
The news of Hamling’s request comes after another Bulldog key back, Marcus Adams, signalled his desire for a trade to WA.
Meanwhile Freo have been strengthening their key stocks, with a trade for Giant forward Cam McCarthy already gone through and Geelong’s Shane Kersten likely to make his way west as well.
