Carlton defender Zach Tuohy has been traded to Geelong in exchange for fringe Cats player Billie Smedts.
Geelong list manager Stephen Wells confirmed the trade had taken place on Wednesday.
As part of the deal, Geelong have also given Carlton pick No.63 and their 2017 first-round pick while the Blues parted ways with their 2017 second-round pick.
Tuohy, 26, hasn’t missed a game in the last four seasons and sits only behind North Melbourne’s Sam Gibson, Sydney’s Dane Rampe and Melbourne’s Nathan Jones for consecutive games among active players.
Since joining the Blues in the 2010 rookie draft, Tuohy has played 120 games. He finished eighth in the club’s best-and-fairest this year.
Smedts has struggled for regular game time at the Cats, with only 38 games to his credit in six seasons.
The 24-year-old, a former No.15 pick, has had his career restricted by shoulder, leg and collarbone injuries.
