Collingwood’s Derek Hine Provides Update On Rockliff, Mayne, Hoskin-Elliott, Blair & Witts
Collingwood list manager Derek Hine has detailed where Collingwood sit in the current trade period.
Speaking on NAB AFL Trade Radio, Hine has provided updates on the big name comings and goings at the Pies.
HINE ON TOM ROCKLIFF:
“The likelihood of Tom coming in would be pretty remote I would have thought.”
“Without putting percentages on it, I’d say that it would be unlikely.”
HINE OF CHRIS MAYNE:
“We are in the process of working through things with Chris and his management. We haven’t had a rock solid commitment just yet, but we are hopeful that that’s going to happen. But the tenure and the remuneration is still in discussion.”
HINE OF WILL HOSKIN-ELLIOTT:
“GWS have a few balls in the air at the moment. So in the next few days we’ll have a chat to Craig and see how that is going to potentially play out. We’d certainly like to bring Will in. He fits that sort of profile that we’d like.”
“We would be keen to bring him in, but again there is a fair bit to play out just on that one.”
HINE OF JARROD WITTS:
“I’m catching up with Scotty (Scott Clayton, Gold Coasts List Manager) this afternoon so I’ll see how we go there.”
“We’d like to retain Jarryd. You know what it’s like, It's really difficult when Jarryd is 209cm and he has played 40-odd games. We feel that Brodie took a significant step forward this year, so it’s really difficult to sit in the 2s and not get that senior opportunity and clearly that is the basis of Jarryd and his management’s decision. So we’ll recognise that.”
HINE ON TRAVIS CLOKE:
“We are really respectful of Trav. He’s been a wonderful player at the club for a long period of time. Clearly he’d like to get to the Bulldogs. In our discussions with Jason and the boys over at the Doggies, they have got a few little things that they are doing. So we are not going to be silly about it, and I’m sure they won’t be silly about it. I’d imagine it will all be sorted out by the end of the week.
HINE OF JARRYD BLAIR:
“I would envisage (that he’ll be at the Pies next year). Just haven’t got a chance to get it all sorted.”
