AFL mad radio station Triple M is pumped to announce today that one of the biggest names in footy, Sam Newman will head back to the home of football for 2012, joining a premiership line-up of football's most colourful, revered and popular names.
Newman will be heard on Friday night’s The Rub tearing apart all of the big issues in footy and sharing unique perspectives on the weekend ahead with Luke Darcy, Garry Lyon, Jason Dunstall & Damien Barrett from 6-7pm.
Newman will also be a regular on Triple M's headline-grabbing Hot Breakfast Show with Eddie McGuire, Mick Molloy and Luke Darcy as well as popular drive-time show The Rush Hour with Billy Brownless and James Brayshaw.
On Newman’s appointment James Brayshaw said, “Sam’s a sports entertainment phenomenon who has been missing from our station for too long. It's great to have the old boy back and now he's just gotta behave himself!
Sam Newman said, “I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am about coming back to Triple M – so, I won't try to”.
With other newcomers Wayne Carey, Dennis Cometti and Wayne Schwass - Newman will join Triple M stalwarts James Brayshaw, Garry Lyon, Jason Dunstall, Danny Frawley, Luke Darcy, Dr Peter Larkins, Mark Ricciuto, Michael Christian, Warren Tredrea, Hamish McLachlan, Billy Brownless, Nathan Brown and more - to enhance Triple M’s position as the number one football station for anyone with a pulse.
Southern Cross Austereo Melbourne General Manager, Ben Amarfio added, “We are genuinely thrilled and a tiny bit nervous to have Sam back at Triple M. In all seriousness, we’ve been keen to get Sam back for a while now and it will be great to have him back where he belongs”.
Tune into The Hot Breakfast with Eddie McGuire tomorrow morning when Triple M will officially welcome Sam Newman back in the studio!
