Magpies Take New York Post by: CK 20 October, 2010 - 8:41 AM

Nick Maxwell in New York

Collingwood skipper Nick Maxwell (L) paid a visit to Andy Brennan (R) Captain of the New York Magpies who won the USAFL flag.

Nick just happened to be in New York on holiday, was spotted by a barman who is be the NY Magpies ruckman and was invited to the clubs function the next night.

Triple M The Hot Breakfast's Eddie McGuire spoke to Glenn Ormsby, senior coach on the New York City Magpies about their big win over the Denver Bulldogs.

The win is the first one in the club's history.

"Denver have won six out of the last seven I think and we just all banded together and it was a huge team effort."

Glenn said the league has been going for 14 to 15 years and there were over 40 teams in the national championships that the NY Magpies won.

What do they sing when they win? Good old New York forever, we know how to play the game...

It looks like the Magpies are taking over the world, in AFL anyway.
