"Well I think they'll get the benefit of not having to play those guys on the big power forwards," Luke Darcy said.

"Ryan Schoenmakers is improving but it doesn't help when he gives away 10 kilos and 10 centimetres, whereas Brian Lake is ready to go."

"So Gibson can go back and play on the mediums and the smalls, Schoenmakers, he might find at times it's hard to find his spot in the side."

Eddie McGuire went on to ask Luke how Lake's body was holding up.

"That's the issue, his knee is horrendous, he's had huge trouble with that but they would have done the medical," Luke responded.

"He played fantastically this year under enormous duress coming back."

"An all Australian twice three years ago."

"So in a system like that where the defensive structures are so good, the thing he does, he'll out mark forwards all the time and set up."

"He's a 25 possession full back, extraordinary player, when he plays well in that role he will make a massive difference."

"I think it's a great move for Hawthorn and a good draft pick for the Bulldogs."
