Blues Players Suspended On Finals Eve Post by: Triple M Footy 26 August, 2009 - 9:47 AM

It's all happening at Carlton! On the eve of arguably the club's most important game in a decade, three players have been suspended by the club for missing a Sunday recovery session.

Eddie Betts, Cameron Cloke and Jeffrey Garlett have been suspended for this week's massive clash with Adelaide at Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

"This is very disappointing for all concerned," said General Manager Football Operations, Steven Icke. "While all three players have apologised for their tardy behaviour this decision ensures that everyone understands the disciplines that are required when you are part of the Carlton Football Club."

With the irresistible lure of home final on the cards, the Blues should be applauded for their tough stance at such a crucial time. But at what cost?

The Fevolution popped into Triple M's studio this morning to set the record straight.

Has Ratten and Carlton's footy department lost their mind? Or is culture-building bigger than the team's results?

This is just so stupid, we've finally got to the finals and then these young blokes don't take it serious. If they dont want to play finals, we'll put players in who do.

We should play the best people in the team. Yeah, they messed up. So what! If I'm late for work because i have had a big night, they dont suspend me from work. Though, sometimes I wish they would.

If they have done the crime they need to do the time the coach is just showing that they cant go out all hours of the night and then not show up because there is other plays who get omited so that these players can play so now they will get to play

I think that living in Adelaide there is only one team and thats the Crows. I think Carlton are a great team, even though I live in Adelaide doesn't mean that everyone has to go for the crows. I think Kim should get over himself about the crows. I think that is very wrong of Carlton to fine those players and also we are coming into finals they should put this behind them and move forward. It has been awhile for our team. Go the mighty blues......
