Rice Gate Controversy Gets Messy Post by: Hamish McLachlan 2 June, 2009 - 5:34 PM
There was fire, spice and flying fried rice in the commentary box at the footy on Sunday. It had nothing to do with the game, it was all between two very passionate football blokes, caller extraordinaire Stephen Quartermaine and The Chief, Jason Dunstall. What started off as a question about injured Trent Croad turned into heated words and then a moment of fried rice fury.

I couldn't believe what i was hearing and thought that Jason was going to belt him one. At least we know that they're real blokes with emotion about what they do. Not like some of those TV blokes who look like they'd rather be somewhere else.

It smells like a set up to me. Maybe a bit of spice will help promote Triple M footy on the weekends. Who eats fried rice at the footy anyway?

Jason Dunstall -- and I've SMS'd this before to the Triple M call team -- has a massive conflict of interest when it comes to all matters regarding Hawthorn, and should be barred from commenting on anything regarding Hawthorn, ranging from issues and news to the basic call of the game, because he has proven that he cannot be objective in that regard. Furthermore, Jason refuses to reveal information about the Hawks that is critical to move the debate along, as was proven on Sunday with regard to Trent Croad's current injury status and his long-term prognosis.

Trent Croad death by media?? Terry Wallace absolutly death by media. It seems blokes like Quarters want to cut these guys down just so the have something to talk about before a game. If they had their way Bomber Thompson would of been out of Geelong years ago, now look at where thay are!! Its good to hear abalanced opinion, well done Jason and Quarters, I thought you were better than that

Dunstall's head (in the above photos) is bigger than the boxer's whole body! He truly is a funny man! Even if it was a set-up it was very entertaining!

Jason should have acted more professionally in that situation. He should be able to handle himself better and not let his ape instincts get to him. His anger and violence might make him the alpha ape in the forests of the Amazon but it has no place in the commentary box. Shame on you

nick reidwolt is a pansy i dont understand what you people see in him any game he does kick big goals are against bottom 8 teams his second efforts are rubbish. im sure hes a wonderful leader and blah bla blah! but for the rating the media gives him he woul be one of the most over rated players. i would never rate him against players like buckley herd richo or wayne carey. rex hunt yo fish head open your eyes and watch the game

I agree with Rhyse, in this kind of situations you must act more profesional.
