Meet The Team
Stuart MacGill
Former right-arm leg spin bowler. Credited with having the best strike rate of any modern leg-spin bowler, Stuart was often overlooked for a regular place in the Australian team due to the dominance of Shane Warne. He played 44 tests, taking 208 wickets and with a bowling average of 29.02. On twelve occasions he took 5 or more wickets in an innings, and twice captured over 10 wickets in a match. Best bowling figure was 8/108. He announced his retirement from international cricket during the second test of Australia's 2008 tour of the West Indies. Stuart is a keen wine connoisseur, having studied wine marketing and boasts an extensive wine cellar with more than 1,500 red and white wines. On Lifestyle's Food channel, he hosts Stuart MacGill Uncorked, an award winning series on Foxtel.
Greg Blewett
Blewy established a reputation as one of Australia's most reliable and consistent batsmen, and was generally used as an opener or number 3 batsman. He made his test debut in 1995 against England in Adelaide, making 102 not out. He went on to play 46 tests, 2552 runs for an average of 34.02. In 1997 at Johannesburg, he and Steve Waugh produced one of the highest partnerships of 385 runs, with Blewy making 214 runs. He retired in 2006.
Brendan Julian
Cricket all-rounder BJ debuted for Australia in 1993, playing 7 tests and 25 ODI's and was part of the 1999 World Cup winning team. He also represented Western Australia 138 times. The cricket all-rounder from Western Australia retired from the game in 2001 to concentrate on his television career. He joined Channel 9's Getaway program as a reporter travelling around the world. These days he is the face of cricket on FOX SPORTS.
Greg Matthews
A left-hand batman and right arm spin bowler, Mo played 33 Test matches and 59 one day internationals for Australia between 1983 and 1993. He is well remembered for his offbeat personality which possibly shortened his test match career. During the 1986 Test match in Madras, Mo took 10 wickets for 249, winning the Man of the Match in 40 degree heat and 80 percent humidity. While other players were dropping from heat exhaustion, Mo played with his sweater on. He retired from first-class cricket in 1998. Mo's media work includes cricket commentary for SBS and ABC Radio, regular roles on Triple M Sydney and the face (and head) of the successful 'Yeah, Yeah' promotion for a hair regrowth company.
Dan Ginnane
Dan has been part of Triple M Sport since 1999, working side by side with the likes of Ray 'Rabbits' Warren, Phil Gould, Paul 'Fatty' Vautin, Sam Kekovich, Michael Slater and Greg Matthews. Dan's a man who loves his sport, covering events such as the U.S. Masters golf, Wimbledon, the Sydney and Athens Olympic Games, the Melbourne Commonwealth Games, the Bathurst 1000, Australian Open tennis, and a regular dose of rugby league, rugby union and AFL matches. Dan's work isn't just limited to radio. He's been a co-host and writer on ESPN television's Pardon The Interruption, ESPN's Australian based sports news reporter and a writer for ESPN's documentary series Legends of Cricket.
Damien Fleming
A pace bowler who mastered the art of swing bowling. Damien played 20 Tests between 1994 and 2001, returning 75 wickets at an average of 25.89 and played in 88 ODI's. He is one of only three men to have taken a hat-trick on Test debut. He was denied another hat-trick in Adelaide in 1999 when Shane Warne dropped a straightforward slip catch. Injury problems shortened his career, the side on bowling action that generated his swing put more strain on his body and he retired in 2003. Damien's media work includes cricket commentary on ABC radio and regular appearances on FOX Sports.
