Quade Cooper has finally put pen to paper and signed with the Queensland Reds for a further three years

The announcement was made live on Fox Sports and tweeted by commentator Tim Horan ahead of the Wallabies clash with Wales in Brisbane.

The three year deal will likely see Quade continue in the green and gold jersey and participate in next year's British and Irish Lions tour as well as the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England.

After a string of losses and injuries, Reds fans will be amongst the first to hope this inspires the current Super Rugby champions to challenge for a finals place when the Super Rugby season begins again in July.

Quade's manager Anthony Mundine told Triple M Brisbane recently that he believed "Quade's future was in rugby union," despite speculation that he would try and sell Quade and Sonny Bill Williams in a super-deal to the NRL.

The announcement comes just two days after Quade and fellow injured Wallaby Kurtley Beale were involved in a scuffle outside a hotel in Brisbane.

Catch Timmy's round up of rugby alongside Matt Burke with The Ruck every Sunday from 9-10am.

How do you think he'll go?
