Malcolm Young was and is the tiny giant of rock n roll.

There are millions and millions of guitarists in the world who can play his rhythm guitar rock n roll power chords, but only Malcolm could write them.

He was, quite simply, a genius.

And if you know guitar, if you really know guitar, then you know two things: One, the rhythm guitar is by far the most important guitars. And two, that Malcolm Young of AC/DC is the greatest rock n roll rhythm guitarist there ever has been and ever will be.

Malcolm Young owns a podium place in rock n roll high above everyone else and perhaps the saddest thing of all is that there is absolutely no one else in the world who is stepping up to take his place. No one close.

Sadly when Malcolm Young died a little bit of rock n roll died too, because this legend was absolutely one of a kind.

Famous for his Aussie Bonds blue singlets, the diminutive and shy rock icon was always a picture of modesty and manners. Yes, he wore that singlet even when he and his band AC/DC were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

And that small blue singlet says so much about the man. He was blue collar working class Australian to the core, in his appearance, in his attitude and most importantly in his unique and explosive guitar sound.

The whole world loves AC/DC because the whole world knows that the toughest, meanest and best rock sound in the world is Aussie Pub Rock. And that sound was created, owned and delivered first and foremost by Malcolm Young.

Listen to the way he starts his songs. Listen to It’s A Long Way To The Top, listen to Riff Raff, listen to Back In Black. Just listen to Malcolm Young.

We will always love, honour and respect Malcolm Young because he... Let There Be Rock.

There’s just so much to say about Malcolm and so little space to truly acknowledge and thank the man for his monolithic contribution to rock n roll and Australia’s music history.

All I can think to say in conclusion is:

Malcolm, WE SALUTE YOU!
