Chester Bennington Australian Memorial Cancelled

After just reporting on the Australian memorial events for Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington, the Brisbane event has been cancelled.

The event to be held in Brisbane this weekend has been cancelled after the events gained too much popularity.

Talking to event organiser Rachel Petan on the cancelation, Petan told Triple M;

"To those of you who are enquiring about why the memorial was cancelled, I apologise for this generic statement…. Misinformation was reported and it was implied that Linkin Park had a hand in organising these events. That is not the case. After the news media reported on the event, the numbers spiked dramatically beyond what I was permitted, by the council, to host. I am not going to put myself at risk now that I have no control over the event. There has already been talk of organising a new memorial with the capacity to host more people. The events were endorsed by Linkin Park member, Mike Shinoda who is encouraging music fans to support one another throughout this hard time.
